Corrective Traction Therapy (CBP)

CBP applies the sciences of mathematics, physics and biophysics to the practice and theory of chiropractic. The overall goal of this treatment techniquq is to restore normal, three-dimensional human posture.  The overall goal of CBP is the improved posture of the spinal column.

Protocol of Care

The CBP protocol of care begins after Dr. Green has concluded his case history with you and performed a traditional orthopedic and neurological examination. Dr. Green will analyze your posture, looking for every possible degree of freedom of the skull, thoracic cage and pelvis.  Next, he will take x-rays and analyze them using geometry to obtain the information he will need to formulate a unique care plan for you, and to later serve as an objective standard against which he can judge whether the care you are receiving is, in fact, working.

When you begin treatment, you are generally assigned one of two regimens: acute or corrective care. Factors that determine which type of plan you are assigned are numerous.  It can depend on the nature of your specific complaint, the magnitude of your postural distortions and the degree of degeneration which may be present.

Acute Care

If you are in need of acute care, your treatment may be quite diversified and include different types of adjustments to restore mobility, cryotherapy to reduce any localized inflammation, and passive and active stretching and massage.  We may also assign acute care programs to our corrective care patients who visit us with many painful symptoms.

Corrective Care

The CBP corrective care treatments include the use of drop table and light-force instrument-assisted adjustive procedures, as well as a variety of corrective traction procedures and corrective postural exercises.

When determining that you are a candidate for CBP, we use a systematic approach to treatment to accomplish increased mobility, flexibility and patient comfort.
